Why the PEFC Certification?

More and more public entities and warehouses are demanding products sourced from sustainable production methods. This is especially true on the international market, where awareness is somewhat higher.

A company's good practice, in this case within the timber sector, not only improves its image, it also brings important social benefits, promoting the use of sustainably harvested wood instead of other materials with no guarantees at all.

Buying materials or products which have the PEFC international stamp provides several important benefits. This green movement helps maintain the world's forests - at the end of 2009 there were 223 million hectares of certified forests - as well as promoting biodiversity and the conservation of resources such as water and topsoil. We should remember that a young tree absorbs twice the amount of CO2 from the atmosphere than an old tree, meaning that we are also helping to improve the atmosphere.

As these forests are strictly controlled, the consumer is assured that the timber does not come from illegal harvests. The risk of forest fires is also significantly reduced. Both quality and price improve when the products come with environmental and economic guarantees.

Furthermore, a sustainable management of green areas is beneficial for everybody. Rural areas can develop, workplaces are created, and social well-being is promoted.

In Spain today, there are only 456 companies with the PEFC certification. Amargós is one of them.

ASEMAD QM ORO

In designing the requirements for the QM ORO Quality Management System, we kept the principles outlined in ISO Standard 9001:2000 firmly in mind, as well as the particular specifications and exceptions for certain points of the Standard that we considered best for our target sector.

For each of the QM ORO Quality Management System requirements, we indicate whether the entire ISO 9001:2000 requirement has been applied, or just the part that we have specified for this QM ORO Quality Management System.

The QM ORO Quality Management System requirements will be periodically updated and improved to adapt to new market demands, legislation and regulations.

ISO 9001

AENOR has been accredited by the National Accreditation Body (ENAC) to certify ISO 9000 quality systems, ISO 14000 environmental management systems, environmental verifications and QS 9000 quality systems for the automotive sector. It is also accredited to certify products across 22 sectors.

AENOR offers the possibility to obtain independent, impartial, transparent and objective certification which is internationally recognised. This certification opens the door to new markets and will help towards improving processes, products and services with a view to greater customer satisfaction.

Over 64000 certified products and 12000 certified organizations guarantee AENOR's experience certifying all industrial and service sectors.

IQNET

The International Quality Certification Network is the largest network of Quality System Certification bodies, made up from the major certifying bodies from 25 countries. By mutual agreement between these bodies, a company which has been audited and awarded certification by one of the IQNET members, as has ARPADA SA, said certification is recognised by the rest of the IQNET members.

AENOR, as a member of IQNET, issues the IQNET diploma along with its registered certification for the company, providing international recognition through this multinational document.
